Instructional Design Project
During Instructional Design Systems, I worked with a team to design a professional development opportunity geared towards teachers who are interested in integrated Computer Science in their elementary classrooms. |
Professional Development Provider
I have provided professional development opportunities across the state of Arkansas and Oklahoma in partnership with Code.org. I host six hour workshops that support teachers who wish to bring Computer Science into their elementary classrooms. |
Concerns-Based Adoption Model
During Diffusion of Educational Innovations, I prepared a Concerns-Based Adoption Model (CBAM) as applied to Computer Science education in the elementary classroom. This CBAM document addressed the concerns of teachers who are trying to implement computer science and provided an innovation configuration checklist which describes optimal, acceptable, and unacceptable components to integrating computer science. |
Equitable Practices
As part of every Computer Science workshop I host, I discuss equitable practices at length with workshop participants. I designed an activity for Code.org called "Equity with Conditionals" to illustrate to teachers the importance of equitable practices when introducing and engaging in Computer Science lesson in their classrooms. |
Assessing Perceptions
As part of an assignment for Diffusion of Educational Innovations, I completed an interview of two teachers who are interested in bringing littleBits, an innovative product designed to make electronic functions accessible to students. |
Innovative Technologies to Enhance Learning
I created this VoiceThread as part of Technology to Enhance Learning. I featured Moby Max, a web-based subscription software that is an adaptive curriculum solution to help teachers provide differentiated instruction in their classrooms. |
